philosophy expands purity made simple family of facial cleansers

philosophy has recently expanded their purity made simple line of facial cleansers.

The original purity made simple has been a rock star in the skin care world for many years. For me, it lives up the hype and then some. I have used it off and on, but mainly on for over five years. There is just nothing better – it is gentle, leaves the face clean but not stripped and removes my waterproof mascara. I guess I can’t ask for much more than that.

The original purity is sort of a cream soap and it doesn’t foam. Evidently a lot of people didn;t feel like their face was getting clean without a foaming cleanser, so a few years ago philosophy introduced their foaming purity made simple. This was also met with rave reviews and now has legions of loyal users.

Recently philosophy jumped on the oil cleansing bandwagon with the introduction of their purity made simple cleansing oil. I wasn’t sure what to expect – oil is oil right? Wrong – unlike pure oil and many of the oil based cleansers, this oil is light, easy to use and non-greasy. Score another win for philosophy!

Two new products have recently been introduced in the purity line – a bar soap and disposable cleansing cloths. Both are getting rave reviews (are you surprised?). The bar soap is for the face and body and supposedly foams great and smells wonderful. The cleansing cloths would be really great for when you are on the go or in a hurry.

For the past several years, I have been working on the Best Facial Cleansers section of the site. In that time I stopped using purity everyday and have tried countless other cleansers. Most of them were okay, some of them were good, but in my book, none of them held a candle to the original purity. I have updated that section to indicate that is my personal preference for best facial cleanser. Right now I am perfectly satisfied with the original purity and the purity cleansing oil.

The philosophy skincare TSV (Today’s Special Value) on QVC on 4/16/2011 will be called Miracle Worker Next Generation Skin Care Collection.

The collection includes these three items:
miracle worker anti-aging day cream SPF 55
60-count miracle worker pads (with miracle worker solution)
miracle worker eye cream

All of these products are fairly new, as is the miracle worker line. The day cream will be exclusive to QVC until June 1, 2011

I have tried the retinol pads (and am currently using them) and I personally do not care for them – the pads are rough and they always feel dry. I don’t enjoy using them at all. They do not have the same texture as all of the other type of pads on the market (like the ones used for glycolic acid). However, they are enormously popuar and a lot of people really love them – could be just me. If I purchase this TSV or I repurchase the pads, I will most likely try just applying the serum without using the pads.
